This is a collaborative effort to document the history of the University of North Carolina at Asheville through research and oral histories.  This project is part of a digital humanities course through COPLAC, the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. Our goal is to provide an in-depth look at the history of our university as told by primary sources from the time, and testimonies of those with a relationship to the campus.  Be sure to check out Contributors to learn a little more about the people behind the curtain.  We hope that our Campus Map will help orient you spatially in our story, as UNC Asheville has an extensive history of moving campuses throughout the city of Asheville and the surrounding area.  The Timeline should give you a quick history about the development of our campus’s growth, while our Interviews with UNC Asheville faculty and staff help add multiple perspectives on this growth both through academia and as community members.

We hope you’ll enjoy this look into UNCA’s campus and the liberal arts!
